Most enviro friendly sports car? The Lotus Elise
Light weight does a lot for you. The 2011 European base model Lotus Elise will get 46mpg. In a sports car that does 0-60 in 6 seconds. Which granted, is not crazy fast, but it is crazy efficient.
How does Lotus do all this? Big batteries and hybrid electric drive systems with hydrogen mixing with einsteinium? No. It does it because the car only weighs 1,931lbs, which means a 136hp inline 4 cylinder is enough to make this car feel like a true sports car. And with 149 grams CO2 per kilometer on the combined EU cycle, it is the most environmentally friendly sports car available. Not to mention gorgeous.
