The Exascale Challenge: The Square Kilometer Array and IBM

IBM needs to build a really big computer. A really, really big computer. By 2025. The kind of computer which is the size of the current internet in terms of data flow.

Why? All because of the Square Kilometer Array - which would make the Very Large Array look quite small. Cool? You bet. A bit of a ticklish problem? Yeah... we kind of need 3D chips, or DNA computing, or lightspeed computing etc.
