A $12.99 E-Reader
Ok, it isn't quite an e-reader. Specifically, it's wikipedia loaded onto a small device with no wifi, and no way to read anything other than wikipedia (as far as I can tell). Which means unless you go to the extreme measure of creating your own wikipedia article (say - the entirety of Game of Thrones), avoiding the editors, and updating the device... all you can read is wikipedia.
That said, it runs on AAA batteries, and runs for "a year" on just two batteries. It has a touchscreen to type (probably slowly, but still), and best of all, wikipedia comes pre-loaded on a 4GB micro-SD card, which is worth about $8 on its own.
All in - the perfect tool for spreading human knowledge after the apocalypse. Though, I will say, its a little redundant if you have a smartphone or tablet..
