The Fed

I think the central problem with the fed is that by aiming to mitigate economic cycles they are attempting to limit the fire ecology which is necessary for a capitalist economy. Basically like the US Forest Service until about 5 years ago when they finally realized that those prevention tactics for the last 50 years just turned healthy fires into unnatural infernos: leading to desolation instead of competitive regrowth. Accountability--as it always does--would likely make the Fed less effective as an institution, and probably lead to more reactive policy making. I'm all for it = )
