27,500 Murdered in Mexico in 2013
Mexico is essentially in a civil war, or perhaps better described a failed state.
You have armies of 5,000 militia matching against heavily armed drug cartels which control entire cities.
In the midst of this there were almost 30,000 murders last year. Of which, only 2% were solved (see below).
Mexico has fallen into being an essentially lawless state, fueled by U.S. drug money and guns. Sad.
