WWII Deaths

This is interesting to me largely in that Europe, so ravaged by the war and at the center of how we view WWII (it was the center of WWII after all), did not have the largest loss of life, by far, unless you count Russia. The surprise to me was how heavily India, Indonesia, and China were affected, though how exactly these statistics are counting I am not sure. And of course, as they were largely undeveloped, they were not really central areas of conflict, though Japanese occupation of China did lead to the civil war.

There are a lot of shitty drivers out there. Actually, most people are shitty drivers. They don't really know anything about cars, about driving, about limits of adhesion, how to react when things go badly, or what snow does to your ability to drive. In fact, most people think that driving slowly, regardless of what lane you are in, whether you are merging onto a highway or holding up 50 cars behind you, means "being a good driver." Just because you have spent many years driving in the left lane at 65mph does not make you a good driver, in fact, just the opposite. Turns out most people don't think looking green is worth the sacrifice of owning a shitty, expensive car. Only 1/3rd of hybrid owners buy another one. Please, no more, I can't take it anymore Good news for the electric revolution? Not really. As I have been saying for years - the Prius has absolutely no logical economic value. There are other cars which are cheaper, better, and with similar fuel economy, or at least with good enough fuel economy that the price premium for the prius makes no damn sense. And the numbers show that: hybrid loyalty has fluctuated very little over the last 6 years, while gas prices have moved all over the place. In other words - buying a hybrid has nothing to do with logic. Shocking.
