The Ultimate Q Ship: Ford Transit Connect?
The Ford Transit Connect is practical, useful, efficient, and a breath of fresh air in a market long dominated by '70s era vans.
But fast? No. It has a 136hp 2.0l four banger.
Make that "had."
So.... Ford has not said how much power this puppy will put down, but in other applications (F150, Taurus SHO) it makes ~350hp and ~420lbs of torque... which is a lot.
For reference, that is pretty similar to a supercar from about 10 years ago, and is right up there with most high-po cars on the market these days.
Given the rear-wheel drive platform and already solid steering and chassis (nothing amazing here of course, but it's not an Econoline either), this could make a hell of a Q ship with some performance tweaks (I'm thinking roll bars, better tires, stiffer suspension). Alternately, you can deliver floral bouquets really freaking fast.
