Norm Wants: The Bugster
The main problem with the Boxter and Cayman is that they are hideously ugly. On top of that, there is something about them which screams that you really really want to be taken as a rich successful man, but you just have not really made it yet. I don't know exactly why these always come across this way, but they do.
The main problem with the old VW beetle (and the new one for that matter), is that they were slow and shitty to drive, reliable penalty boxes which were fun only on the outside (though apparently, for crossing Africa, they are the perfect car - the damn things are un-killable).
This... this solves all the problems:
This is a 1973 Bug dropped on top of a 2000 Boxter. Seems to me that the perfect fit would be the same bug, dropped onto a 2011 Cayman S - that would be one hell of a drive.
And look at the back end - this is basically what the Cayman tried to do, but failed and instead made a horrible mess:
